Frequently asked

The questions we hear most often.

Is the first consultation really complimentary?

Yes. Your initial consultation, exam, and digital scan are all complimentary. We'll go over a clear assessment and your treatment plan and options together — whether or not you choose to begin care with us.

What's the difference between Invisalign and braces for adults?

Both can produce excellent outcomes — the right choice depends on the specifics of your case, your timeline, and your lifestyle. We'll walk you through both at consultation, including the trade-offs in treatment time, finish quality, and visit frequency.

How long does treatment usually take?

Most adult and teen cases finish in 6–18 months for aligners and 12–24 months for comprehensive braces. More complex cases take longer; we'll give you an honest range — not a marketing range — at consultation.

Do you treat children?

Yes — Dr. Cohen leads our pediatric dentistry, and Dr. Schwab evaluates children for orthodontic concerns starting around age 7. The AAO recommends a first orthodontic check by age 7 to catch issues that are easier to correct early.

Do you offer care in Japanese?

Yes — Japanese is spoken at both offices.

Can I be seen at both locations?

Yes — your records, scans, and treatment plan travel with you. Many adult patients alternate between our NYC practice and our Ridgewood office based on what's convenient that week.
